Sensei-led trainings have a long history of helping anyone improve their kendo. They are prestigious and rare in Europe, we’re very honoured and humbled to welcome the two sensei to our trainings,

Kaiyu Takahashi sensei (8th dan) and Noriko Suzuki sensei (7th dan).

Schedule

1. How to establish the fundamental connection with your opponent (aiki) and set up the conditions for yuko datotsu.

2. On the basis of aiki connection, how to use different kinds of seme to destabilise your opponent and set up the opportunity for effective waza.

3. Looking ahead to the European Kendo Championships, how to effectively translate 1) & 2) into shiai from the perspective of both shiai-sha (competitor - winning yuko datotsu) and shinpan (referee - clearly recognising yuko datotsu).*

*Participants who are 2nd Dan and above will have the opportunity to learn and hone their shinpan skills.

The suggested minimum grade refers to the level of experience practicing kendo, lower levels will not be excluded from the seminar, BUT on these days the trainings will be geared to higher grades that have a solid understanding of the fundamentals AND some advanced techniques.

NOTE: part of the seminar will include training of Kata, so please bring Bokuto and Kodachi with you!
